A Double Blind Crossover Study of Gerdasyl Chung


Abstract
Gerdasyl, which is known as an anxiolytic with antidepressive action was tried to 30 patients whose illnesses were classified, by psychiatrists, as anxiety disorder, depressive disorder or psychophysiologic disorder according to the criteria listed in DSM 1. Double blind crossover design was employed.
Followings are the results.
1. Gerdasyl proved to be effective, than placebo, in producing some statistically significant improvement on mental symptoms but not on physical ones.
2. In statistically meaningful member of patients, Gerdasyl improved more than `ONE¢¥ degree on such symptoms as anxiety, depressive Omood, impairment of social contact, hopelessness, fatigue and palpitation.;
The results yield the best indications of Gerdasyl: anxious, pounding heart depressed, fatigue and impaired social contact. Comparison of the effect of Gerasyl with that of others anxiolytics and/or antidepressant will result further information.
